How2Revise currently offers public guidance and a no-login revision reset. Accounts, payments, uploads and free-text AI are closed while the required privacy, safeguarding, accessibility and professional checks are completed.

What is open—and what is not.

A price or planned feature shown elsewhere is not an invitation to pay today. No live account or paid service should ask for a card while these gates remain closed.

  • Public revision guidance and technique pages.
  • A no-login 10-minute revision reset using material beside the pupil.
  • A small reset draft stored in the browser on that device, so the pupil can move between steps.
  • Optional public-site analytics only after the visitor chooses to allow it.

Closed until the gates pass

  • Pupil and parent accounts or saved online pupil profiles.
  • Subscriptions, card payments, free-trial activation or recurring charges.
  • Schoolwork, image, audio or document uploads.
  • Free-text AI chat, AI coaching, live web search or AI answers.

For pupils

Bring the schoolwork. Keep private details out.

The free reset asks for a tiny revision target, not the schoolwork itself. A pupil should never type their full name, address, school, phone number, password or another person’s private information.

Do not paste or upload a textbook, exam paper or private school document.

Leave whenever you want

There are no streaks, leaderboards or loss messages in the public reset. Its timer can be paused.

Data in the public reset

The small amount stored stays on this device.

The reset saves the selected material type, short target, confidence choice, three return questions, retry outcome, current step, timer and chosen return window in browser local storage. It is used to keep the reset moving on that device and can be reopened for 24 hours from creation. How2Revise clears it at that deadline while the site is running, or on the next How2Revise visit after a closed or suspended browser. Completion or the cookie and local-storage controls remove it sooner.

The public reset does not send that target to an AI or create a pupil profile. Optional public-site analytics are separate, stay off unless allowed and must not contain the reset target. Read the privacy notice and cookie and local-storage notice.

Safety by design

  • No direct messages, public comments, friends, followers or pupil-to-pupil contact.
  • No behavioural advertising, advertising profiles or child marketing.
  • No grade prediction, diagnosis or claim that the service knows a pupil’s ability.
  • No pressure to keep using the tool, buy something or persuade an adult to pay.
  • Plain safety routes and a separate internal safeguarding process.
A safety promise must match reality.

We do not describe How2Revise as “100% safe”, “fully monitored” or an emergency service. Child accounts and free-text AI will remain off until named human owners, qualified reviews and operational tests are complete.

How2Revise is not an emergency or counselling service. If anyone is in immediate danger in the UK, call 999 now or go to a safe trusted adult nearby. A child or young person can contact Childline free on 0800 1111.

Standards guiding this work

Our design work uses the Information Commissioner’s Children’s Code. Any future learner-facing AI must also pass controls based on the Department for Education’s generative AI product safety standards. These references do not mean either regulator or department approves How2Revise.
